Want to sleep better?

Hands up if you get an uninterrupted 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night? No? Well the reality is that most people don’t! That is not to say that it is not important of course. When we sleep, our body goes into its growth and repair mode (a very vital mode to be in if you want to live to the ripe old age of 105!).

Luckily there are plenty of other things that you can do to help yourself have a better slumber, and sticking to a ‘sleep’ routine is one of the best things you can do! I personally have added 2 new changes to me nightly routine to ensure I sleep longer and feel more rejuvenated when I wake up!


So without further ado, here are my tips for enhancing your sleeping patterns!


1. Diffuse lavender essential oil and rub it on your pulse points. Lavender is known for its calming and relaxing properties, so I diffuse it and rub it on just before I hop into bed. I leave the air diffuser running whilst I’m falling asleep too, to give me that added relaxation as I’m drifting off!

2. Sip on passionflower tea in the evening. I’m a tea-a-holic, so I love a good cuppa as I’m watching a health documentary (or married at first sight) after dinner! Passionflower is known to help with sleep onset, anxiety, and is a mild sedative so can even help relieve those pesky tension headaches! I find this tea perfect for winding down of an evening!
